Forgotten Community’s Young Widow Testifies

 March 21, 2024

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction…”

James 1:27

When I heard Russela’s story, I was faced with the question, “Have I used difficult experiences in my life for the glory of God?”

Russella husband died and she moved to the Forgotten Community as a widow with three children. She had nothing.

Moving to the Forgotten Community, at the time, seemed like a nightmare that would only make her situation more desperate. She felt like she was going there to die and felt hopeless for her children. She was so down and out that it was her only option, as she had no where else to go.

But God had other plans for her as it ended up being an unexpected blessing and a blessing to the Forgotten Community.

Previously Russella didn’t go to church until she had a personal encounter with Jesus and surrendered her life to Christ. You were a direct part in her testimony. After receiving food from our food distribution, she was introduced to Jesus and gave her life to Him. Her surrender to Christ and the discipleship provided by the believers who surrounded her (that’s you!) would become the very things that got her through.

Russella works as a caretaker in her sister’s junk shop and receives only $3 a day. Because of you, she and her children are provided with a meal each day. Russella is grateful for the provision of God in her life, despite the tragedy of losing her husband.

She knows the provision of God and now has a heart to serve others. She loves to deliver the food packages in her community, and is one of the cooks. She also serves in Mothers Ministry.

Russella is a beautiful testimony of coming out of pain and tragedy to know Jesus and serve others. Her children are regularly blessed by His Feet’s children’s ministry. Below is a picture of her sharing her testimony to a gathering of nearly 50 women.

His Feet International is actively working to make lives better in the Forgotten Community and helping to draw men, women, and children closer to Jesus. We do this not only in the Forgotten Community but in other hard to reach places too. Please pray for us and consider helping us bring development and education with discipleship and church planting to the lost and the least.

Thank You for providing food packages that are used to not only provide sustenance, but share the Gospel. Together we are the feet of Jesus to the lost and hurting world. Together we are changing the world!
